Coppelia Audition

South Pointe Ballet Academy will be performing a rendition of Coppelia. Auditions will be held at the studio (10128 S. Redwood Rd.) on Saturday, November 21, 2009. 12 pm - 1 pm will be flat shoe and guys, 1 pm - 3 pm will be anyone on pointe. There is a $5 fee at the door. For questions, please call the front desk (801-254-0112).

*You must be at least 10 years of age to audition.

FUNDRAISER

This Saturday at 2pm we will be having an open house for our Scentsy fundraiser. We will have all of the scents there for you to smell.

for the full catalog. When placing your order make sure to put in that you are with C&C. If you are placing under a performing team student make sure that you inform us with there name too.

Scarecrow Festival at Thanksgiving Point

The performing team was asked last minute to perform at the Taylorsville/Murray scholarship Padget. The girls did great! Thanks everyone for being ready and willing.

Girls Night

Some of the girls got together after rehearsal and went to the movie FAME. Got to love girls night!

Bring your friend to class!

Oct. 12th-23rd bring your friend to class. The class is free for your friend and if they register you get $10 off your next months tuition. Excited to dance with you!!

The performing teams are scheduled to perform at the Scarecrow Festival at Thanksgiving Point on October 15. They have a special practice on Friday, October 9. After that practice they will be attending the movie, Fame. If you are on a performing team and need more information, please contact Angela at the front desk or make a comment on this blog. We would be happy to hear from you.

Remember to put November 21 on your calendar for the Coppelia auditions for the South Pointe Ballet Company. More information will definitely follow!

Please remember the following information about tuition and dance clothing.

Tuition is due the first class of each month. Tuition received after the 10th of the month will receive a $10.00 late fee. Dress codes will be enforced. No skirts or shorts will be allowed in the ballet classes. Hair must be pulled up in a bun. If you come prepared to dance, your class will be much more effective. Jazz students need to come in dance clothing including a leotard and dance pants with the proper shoes. Tap students need to come in dance clothing and tap shoes.

There is a $25.00 performance fee that is due each dance year. This fee covers the cost of the performances. The costume fees cover the cost of the costumes. All of these fees are due by October 31, 2009. The $15.00 registration fee is due at the time of registration. If you have any questions about these policies, please talk to Angela at the front desk.

Dance Workshop

C&C faculty will be attending Transfusion Hype dance workshop Sept. 19th 2009. They will focus on Stretching, Strengthening, Contemporary Jazz, Lyrical Jazz, & Hip Hop. Attendees will get a sneak live preview of Transfusion Hypes next show in Dec. It is only $75 from 10am to 5pm at Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center Leona Wagner Black Box 138 W. 300 S. The students will receive a discounted price. If you are interested in attending please inform your teacher. Payment is due the day of the workshop. See you there!

Welcome Back!
I hope everyone had a great summer. C & C had a great summer program. The workshop students had a week of intensive jazz classes with Transfusion Hype. Heather Thackery of Ballet West taught a class and had a discussion with the girls about a dancing career and Carlo Sierras taught a partnering class. We had our first audition for our performing groups and look forward to an exciting year with the many performances scheduled. With such a terrific summer we are all very excited to start the fall classes.

Team Party

This years performing team party. We got together for a BBQ and planned out our year. We are excited for all of our upcoming events.

Our summer fun!

Summer work shops were a blast! Thank you teachers and students for all of your hard work. Fall classes will begin Sept. 8th. Don't forget to register. Make sure you make it to Auditions for this years performing team this Saturday at 12pm-2. Everyone ten and older are welcome.

COME TO AUDITIONS!

Performing team Auditions are this Saturday the 22nd at 12pm sharp. The audition will be at least 2 hours long so come prepared to work hard.It is $5 to audition but if you bring a friend it is free. This years performing team will be learning a jazz, lyrical, modern, and ballet number that they will perform at numerous places such as scarecrow festival, festival of trees, Riverton Arts festival etc. We will also competing around the valley and in St. George. We are hoping to travel to California to take classes from The Edge and to Denver for Pulse on Tour workshop. Hope to see you there!

The Circus

2009 Spring Recital "Circus" was a success. The students worked hard all year and put on a great performance. Thank you to all the students, parents and everyone that helped us make this happen. Love C&C Faculty

UP COMING EVENTS

Our Jazz and Ballet Company will be performing at the Riverton Arts Festival Friday June 15th at 8:00pm. When you are there remember to get a flier for a $5 off your next class.

Spring recital will be held at Bingham High School Friday, June 19th Lower school7-8 pm. Upper School 8:30-9:30. We will also be having a raffle between the shows. COme and see how hard our girls have been working.

Exams for next year will be held June 19th-July2nd. Class exams are in important part of dance training. It enables the students to work for a certain standard.
