The Nutcracker Auditions

The South Pointe Ballet Company will be performing The Nutcracker with the South Pointe Ballet Orchestra. We are very excited about this opportunity! Registration for the audition will be on Wednesday, September 10 and Thursday, September 11 from 4:30-7:00 p.m. at the studio. Every dancer needs to register and be measured to audition. At registration you will receive the time for your audition to be held on Saturday, September 13. There is a $10.00 fee due at registration. The Nutcracker performance dates are December 4-6, 2014 at Elk Ridge Middle School.

Registration and Changes

Just a reminder that you can easily find a registration form and the new schedules for fall and summer classes on our website at www.candcballet.com. It is not too late to begin summer classes although we have made a couple of changes to the schedule. Beginning and Intermediate ballet and jazz classes have been combined, so the new schedule is as follows:

Ballet  4:15 – 5:15  Tuesdays/Thursdays
Jazz  5:15 – 6:15  Tuesdays
Hip Hop 6:15 – 7:15  Tuesdays

Please note that the summer schedule originally showed that Hip Hop and Jazz were also on Thursdays, but that is not correct. They will only be held on Tuesdays. Costs are as follows: Ballet $60, Jazz $36, and Hip Hop $36. For questions on any of these changes, please call the studio at 801-254-0112.

Exam Results

Great job to all those who participated in exams this year!

Exam results will be mailed out the first week in July, so you should be receiving them soon. If you have any questions about the results please call Angela. If you did not have exams, you will be receiving  a registration form, including dress codes for next year and payment information. Our classes fill up really fast for fall. If you know what class you want, get your registration form in quick to guarantee your space.

Performing Team Auditions

Recital DVD

You all did such a fantastic job at the Spring Recital! If you didn't notice, we had some awesome people there recording the performance for us. These DVDs will be available soon and they would like to know how many to make, so if you are thinking about buying one, would you please pre-order it at the front desk? DVDs cost $25.00.

Ballet and Jazz Exams

Ballet and Jazz exams are held annually after the recital. This year, students will prepare for exams the week of June 16 - 20, and exams are June 23 - 27. The classes in the upper school that will be involved with the exams are listed below.

During the week of exams each class will have a scheduled time that may or may not be the same time as their normal dance class. It is an important part of each student’s dance training to participate in the exam process. Please make necessary arrangements for your student to be at the scheduled exam.

Students who are not part of the above list will complete their dance year with the conclusion of the recital.
