Ballet and Jazz Exams

Ballet and Jazz exams are held annually after the recital. This year, students will prepare for exams the week of June 16 - 20, and exams are June 23 - 27. The classes in the upper school that will be involved with the exams are listed below.

During the week of exams each class will have a scheduled time that may or may not be the same time as their normal dance class. It is an important part of each student’s dance training to participate in the exam process. Please make necessary arrangements for your student to be at the scheduled exam.

Students who are not part of the above list will complete their dance year with the conclusion of the recital.

Dance Picture Schedule

Even though we have plenty of time before pictures, we wanted to make sure you had all these times and dates on your busy schedules.

Dance pictures are scheduled for Wednesday, May 21, and Thursday, May 22. The pictures will be taken at Expressions Photography studio located in the front corner space in the same complex as the studio.  Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled time, in costume and with your hair and makeup done.

The Medallion Classic Competition at SLCC

We are so excited for our performing teams to participate in the Medallion Classic Competition at Salt Lake Community College on March 21 - 22.

They are also sponsoring a fun Improv competition right after the last routine. Dancers may register at the sound table during the day, and awards will take place at approximately 6:30 p.m. immediately following the improv competition. All awards will be given out in the gym. 

Everyone must meet dressed and ready to go (hair, make up, costume on) in the dressing room 1 hour before your performance time. If you are able to come and support the other dancers we would really appreciate it. We would also love to have everyone come for awards and sit as a team. 

 

If you have a warm up jacket and sweats please wear them along with C&C shirts.

Performing Team Competition Dates

The performing teams are very excited about their upcoming competitions! If you are on one of these teams, do not miss your class times and make sure you are aware of the dates for the competitions. If you miss a competition you will not be allowed to finish the competition season.  The teams are depending on everyone in their class and a missing dancer hurts the entire team. 

Please put the following competition dates on your calendar:

March 22 – Classic at SLCC
May 3 – America On Stage at Lagoon
May 10 – Dance-a-Rama at Murray High

Christmas Performance

Date: December 11, 2013                                          
Place: Bingham High School                                     
10400 South 2200 West                                               
Time: Lower School Performance 6:30 p.m.             
Upper School Performance 8:00 p.m.

All dancers need to arrive 30 minutes before the scheduled performance time. They need to arrive in costume and with makeup on. Children in the lower school performance will be sitting with their families in the auditorium during the performance.  The dancers will need to be brought to the backstage area in groups of 10 dance numbers.  Dancers who are in the upper school performance will be in a room off of the backstage area. They will stay in the room during the entire performance.  Costume changes will take place in the dressing room. Dancers will not be allowed in the auditorium after their dances. They will need to wait until the entire performance is over to join their families. Teachers will give individual instructions on hair and makeup for each class.   

Upcoming Performing Team Shows

Our Performing Teams have two opportunities to share their talents for the Christmas season. The first one is at the Christmas Gift show on November 15 at 4:00 and the second is the Festival of Trees on December 6 at 3:15.Both of these events will be held at the South Towne Expo Center. Please support our teams by attending these fun family events!
