Christmas Performance

Date: December 19, 2015                                             

Place: Bingham High School                                      

10400 South 2200 West                                             

Lower School Performance 12:00 p.m.                        

Upper School Performance 2:00 p.m.

All dancers need to arrive 30 minutes before the scheduled performance time in costume and with makeup on. Children in the lower school performance will be sitting with their families in the auditorium during the performance. The dancers need to be brought to the backstage area in groups of 10 dance numbers. 

Dancers who are in the upper school performance will be in a room off of the backstage area where they will need to stay for the entire performance except when they are onstage. Costume changes will take place in the dressing room.  Dancers will not be allowed in the auditorium after their dances are over. They will need to wait until the entire performance is over. Teachers will give individual instructions on hair and makeup for each class.  

Christmas Performance

The Christmas Performance this year will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Bingham High School. Once again it will be divided between the lower and upper schools. The lower school performance will begin at 12:00 p.m. and the upper school will begin at 2:00 p.m. There is no dress rehearsal for the Christmas Performance. Dancers will arrive 30 minutes before the performance, with hair and makeup done and ready to go on stage.

South Pointe Ballet Nutcracker Auditions

The South Pointe Ballet Company will be performing The Nutcracker again this year. We are very excited about this opportunity. Registration for the auditions will be on Wednesday, September 9, and Thursday, September 10, from 4:30-7:00 p.m. at C&C Ballet Academy. Every dancer needs to register to audition, but you may choose which day to come. At registration, dancers will be measured and receive their audition times for Saturday, September 12. Their audition timeslot could be any time during the day, so please plan accordingly. Each group typically meets up to 2 hours. There is a $10.00 fee due at the time of registration; checks or cash only, please.

The Nutcracker performance dates are December 3 – 5 at Elk Ridge Middle School.

Registration and New Classes

Now is the time to register for fall classes. Many classes are filling up so register today to get the classes you want. You can print the registration form off of the website. www.candcballet.com, or come into the studio. Please call before coming to make sure someone is there, 801-254-0112.

We have had so many people register for the tap classes that it has become necessary to add an additional tap class. There will be a Tap 5 class opening on Thursday evenings from 7:30-8:15.  Those who were in Tap 4 can register for this class.  The tap class that is on Friday from 5:30-6:15 will now be Company Tap and to be in this class you will need to audition. We will also be adding a jazz class for the levels of Jazz 3 and Jazz 4. This will be held on Tuesdays from 7:30-8:30. We hope that this will create more options for the dancers and their busy schedules.

27th Anniversary

Thank you for making our 27th year amazing.  The studio has won Best of State accolades for four years in a row. Each of our performing teams had a fantastic year in competitions. We earned Best Choreography, Overall Highest Score and Best Technique awards. C&C has many things to celebrate. We acknowledge the hard work and dedication of our students and faculty and look forward to the next 27 years. 

Countryfest in South Jordan

Did you know our studio has been invited to perform at Countryfest this year? We are super excited for this opportunity! Here is the order of the classes that will be performing. We only have 45 minutes, so unfortunately, not all classes will be able to perform. If you have questions, please speak with your teacher. Otherwise, we hope to see you all there on June 6 at the main city park in South Jordan. If you are performing, please be there by 2::45 in costume and ready to go. If you are there to support our studio and see some fabulous dancing, please be there by 3:00.

Have you always wanted your own C&C Ballet Academy dance bag? We have just chosen a new design with silk-screen included. Cost is only $45. We realize this one says Ballet Center, but we promise that yours will say Ballet Academy.

Picture Schedule

Dance pictures are scheduled for Wednesday, April 29 and Thursday April 30. The pictures will be taken at Expressions Photography studio located in the front corner space in the same complex as the studio. Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled picture time.

New Classes at C&C Ballet

Kyu shin ryu classes are now being held at C&C Ballet. Classes are held on Monday and Thursday evenings from 7:30-9:00. There are teen – adult age classes and children’s classes are available upon request. The instructors for the classes are Cole and Anastasia Thomas. Welcome Back!

We are excited to start a new year. Thank you for all your support through the years and all of us at C&C Ballet are excited to be back to work with your children. 

With the bad weather here we need to be aware of snow days. When road conditions are not safe to travel, we will cancel classes. If you would like to know if it is a snow day, please call the studio.  There will be a message on the phone letting you know if classes are cancelled. If possible, we will also put a notice here on our blog.

We want everyone to be safe while traveling. Make up classes will be scheduled for snow days at a later time.

Christmas Performance

Please join us for our annual Christmas Performance on Thursday, December 11, at Bingham High School. The Lower School will begin at 6:30 and the Upper School at 8:00 pm. There is no charge for this performance.

Zumba

C&C is excited to announce that Christina Stacey has started Zumba classes at the studio. She is holding classes on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:00-11:00 a.m. and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30-9:30 p.m. Classes are $5.00 each with no commitment required. More information is available at the studio.

Last Call for Fundraiser Orders

We received some late orders for the Tupperware Fundraiser so we will be placing one more order on Friday, October 10. If you still want to turn anything in, get it to the studio by Thursday. Thanks!

The Nutcracker Auditions

The South Pointe Ballet Company will be performing The Nutcracker with the South Pointe Ballet Orchestra. We are very excited about this opportunity! Registration for the audition will be on Wednesday, September 10 and Thursday, September 11 from 4:30-7:00 p.m. at the studio. Every dancer needs to register and be measured to audition. At registration you will receive the time for your audition to be held on Saturday, September 13. There is a $10.00 fee due at registration. The Nutcracker performance dates are December 4-6, 2014 at Elk Ridge Middle School.

Registration and Changes

Just a reminder that you can easily find a registration form and the new schedules for fall and summer classes on our website at www.candcballet.com. It is not too late to begin summer classes although we have made a couple of changes to the schedule. Beginning and Intermediate ballet and jazz classes have been combined, so the new schedule is as follows:

Ballet  4:15 – 5:15  Tuesdays/Thursdays
Jazz  5:15 – 6:15  Tuesdays
Hip Hop 6:15 – 7:15  Tuesdays

Please note that the summer schedule originally showed that Hip Hop and Jazz were also on Thursdays, but that is not correct. They will only be held on Tuesdays. Costs are as follows: Ballet $60, Jazz $36, and Hip Hop $36. For questions on any of these changes, please call the studio at 801-254-0112.

Exam Results

Great job to all those who participated in exams this year!

Exam results will be mailed out the first week in July, so you should be receiving them soon. If you have any questions about the results please call Angela. If you did not have exams, you will be receiving  a registration form, including dress codes for next year and payment information. Our classes fill up really fast for fall. If you know what class you want, get your registration form in quick to guarantee your space.

Performing Team Auditions

Auditions for next year's performing teams will be held on June 30, 2014 from 4:00 - 6:00 at the studio. You must audition to participate in the performing teams. Please contact Angela with questions at 801 254-0112.
